Amy Hageman, M.A.
Doctoral Level Advanced Extern
Amy is a Doctoral Level Advanced Extern at Hopeology, currently completing her final practicum as part of her doctoral training in clinical psychology under the supervision of Dr. Jillian Fitzpatrick. She provides therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, offering a warm, collaborative, and grounded approach that helps clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.
Amy specializes in working with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, suicidality, neurodevelopmental differences, and maternal mental health concerns. She also has experience conducting neuropsychological assessments and comprehensive clinical interviews, allowing her to bring a deeper level of insight into each client’s emotional, cognitive, and behavioral patterns.
Her therapeutic style is integrative and tailored to each individual, drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and body-based (somatic) practices. Amy is especially passionate about helping clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and nervous system, supporting them in developing practical, sustainable tools for healing and growth.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the business world prior to entering the field of psychology, Amy brings a unique depth of real-world perspective to her work. She understands the complexities of stress, burnout, life transitions, and balancing multiple roles, and integrates this lived experience into her therapeutic approach with empathy, practicality, and authenticity. Amy is deeply committed to creating a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where clients from all backgrounds feel seen, valued, and supported.
In addition to her clinical work, Amy is a Pilates instructor with a strong passion for the mind-body connection. She incorporates this perspective into her work when appropriate, helping clients reconnect with their bodies as part of the healing process. Outside of the therapy room, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, being in nature, tending to her garden, and relaxing with a good movie.
Amy works with clients across the lifespan and is currently accepting new clients at Hopeology. If you’re looking for a therapist who combines clinical expertise with real-life understanding and a holistic, integrative approach, Amy may be a great fit for you.
Amy can take BCBS PPO and Cigna. She can also offer a reduced, sliding-scale rate. Please contact our office to discuss this further.
