Acceptance and Commitment Therapy based in St. Charles, IL

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based approach that helps you build a meaningful life by accepting difficult thoughts and feelings rather than trying to eliminate them. At Hopeology PLLC, we use ACT to help you increase psychological flexibility, reduce avoidance, and develop practical strategies for managing stress, anxiety, depression, and other life challenges.

By learning to accept your experiences while actively pursuing what matters most to you, ACT supports personal growth, resilience, and a greater sense of purpose.

ACT focuses on identifying your values and taking committed action toward them, even in the presence of discomfort or uncertainty. We guide you in clarifying what matters most, building practical skills to stay aligned with your values, and taking meaningful steps forward in your daily life.

  • We have found that most people benefit from starting with weekly appointments. You and your therapist can decide to meet less frequently as you progress toward reaching your goals. Even after goals have been reached, many clients decide to continue coming for occasional appointments to maintain their process, such as once per month.
